NeXtGen Digest, NINA and the PCNRC proudly announce the launch of their collaborative Mentoring Project!
Next Tuesday, June 23 proteges who responded to our survey about their needs for a program will meet with area nonprofit executive directors for lunch at the Community Foundation of Greater Fort Wayne!
We have RSVPs from two dozen proteges and mentors alike and expect the event to give each attendee a chance to meet and network. We have some dynamic folks involved and would like to thank everyone for participating!
The Mentorship Project will be informal and individual. Partners will decide what works best for themselves and we’ll gather feedback about how we can support your relationships.
Mentorship Best Practices
This monograph from the Academy for Educational Development (AED) Center for Leadership Development offers 12 best practices, based on the New Voices National Fellowship Program, a human rights leadership development iniative funded by the Ford Foundation and administered by AED. At the conclusion of the report, proteges will find a sample “contract” to prompt discussion and design a program that fits your needs.
Attendance has already been confirmed with interested parties, who responded to our open solicitation community survey.
If you are interested in being a part of the Mentorship Project, please contact the PCNRC or watch this blog for updates.

How did the meeting on June 23rd go?

Hi Sarah!
The meeting was a hit! Attended by 30 nonprofit professionals – mentors and proteges alike and catered by Classic Cafe. We chatted in small groups, moved around the room several times and exchanged cards and contact information. We’re approaching the time when we need to follow up to see if any connections have been made past the introductions, if the format was as well received as it appeared to be and if anyone has thoughts or ideas.
Thanks for asking!
