Hi–Glad NextGen is interested in nature! For a future event you might want to hike at Eagle Marsh, the largest preserve in Allen County, a 705-acre wetland restored from farm fields to four types of varied native habitats by Little River Wetlands Project. We can provide a knowledgeable staff person or board member to accompany you. Over 170 bird species, including fifteen endangered or of special concern in Indiana, have already been seen there and the preserve is full of frogs, toads, turtles, and more. It’s beautiful even in winter when snow is on the ground. Eagle Marsh is located at 6801 Engle Road in southwest Fort Wayne, about 10 minutes from downtown. Call us at 478-2515 or e-mail execdir@lrwp.org. (Or send to me, I’m a board member.) Thanks!

Thank you, Judy! We’d love to visit the Eagle Marsh and have the chance to rejuvenate and learn about our community firsthand! We’ll be in touch about the chance, perhaps in the spring to take another long lunch hike~
